Ellen Marie Vance, Taylor Co., KY (1926-2017)

She was retired from Fruit of the Loom after 41 years of service. She was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Frankie Wright & Lorena Shofner Wright, and the widow of Carl Vance, her husband of 51 years. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Ellen Marie Vance, 90, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 6:30amET, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 90

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Gary Durham. Burial will be in Aetna Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Green County. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY.



Ellen Marie Vance, Taylor Co., KY (1926-2017)


Ellen Marie Vance was the daughter of the late Frankie Wright & Lorena Shofner Wright. She was born August 27, 1926 in Taylor County, KY. She died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 90 years, seven months, and two days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.

She retired from Fruit of the Loom after forty-one years of service.

She united in marriage to Carl Vance May 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death July 11, 1999.

She is survived by:
  • One granddaughter: Lana Atwood, Greensburg, KY

  • Two great-grandsons: Perry Joshua Loy and Mark Allen Loy, Greensburg, KY

  • Four great-great-grandchildren: Dajia Ellen Loy, Nola Maree Lee Loy, Bonnie Elizabeth Loy and Blake Lee Russell, all of Greensburg, KY

  • One brother and sister-in-law: Clelland and Rose Wright, Campbellsville, KY

  • A special niece, Gayle Skaggs, Campbellsville, KY

  • A special friend, Bill French, Campbellsville, KY

  • and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons: William Carl Vance, November 23, 1969 and Calvin Vance in infancy May 15, 1951 and a grandson, Carl Dwayne Loy January 22, 1994.
