Ethel Nell Pollard, 87, Adair County, KY (1929-2017)

She was a member of Hutchison Community Church and a former dietary aid for Summit Manor Nursing Home and the Adair County School System. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was a member of a highly respected family. She was the daughter of the late Harry & Nancy Curry Brockman and the widow of Robert "Bud" Pollard. She leaves three direct and two step living descendants.

Ethel Nell Pollard, 87, of Columbia, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 9:32pmCT, at her home.

Funeral service, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Wisdom officiating. Burial will follow the service in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Friday, March 31, 2017.

Ethel Nell Pollard, 87, Adair County, KY (1929-2017)


She was born September 13, 1929, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Harry & Nancy Curry Brockman. She died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in Columbia, KY, at the age of 87 years, six months, and 15 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bud" Pollard on July 15, 2015, and a daughter, Patricia Ann Pollard.

She was a member of Hutchison Community Church and a former dietary aid for Summit Manor Nursing Home and the Adair County School System.

Survivors include:

  • One daughter & son-in-law: Geneva & L.C. Bradshaw of Columbia, KY

  • Four brothers: Hollis, Joe (Peggy), Jimmy & Jesse (Sally) Brockman all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Julia Reynolds of Campbellsville & Jean (Kenneth) Corbin of New Albany, IN

  • One granddaughter: Angie (Todd) Stephens of Columbia, KY

  • One great-granddaughter: Breann Stephens

  • One step-great-granddaughter: Krystal Stephens

  • One step-great-great-granddaughter: Madalyne Dotson

  • Several other relatives & friends
