Estelle Pruitt, 86, Cumberland Co., KY (1930-2017)

She was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church and was a former seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Allen Osby Spears & Cassie Capps Spears and the widow of Ollie Glen Pruitt. She was the matriarch of a very large, respected family, with 21 direct living descendants spanning four generations

Estelle Pruitt age 86 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 08, 2017 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville.

Funeral service Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3pmCT/4pmET until 9pmCT/10pmET, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Estelle Pruitt, 86, Cumberland Co., KY (1930-2017)


Estelle was born on November 19, 1930 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Allen Osby Spears & Cassie Capps Spears. She died Wednesday, March 08, 2017, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 86 years, three months, and 17 days.

She was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church and was a former seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Glen Pruitt, one son, Donald Ray Pruitt, three brothers, Keen Spears, Stanley Spears, Lloyd Spears, and one sister, Fern Spears.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Gary Pruitt and his wife Regina of Georgetown, KY and Doug Pruitt and his wife Hilda of Louisville, KY

  • Two daughters: Brenda Fluty and her husband Cordell and Linda Long and her husband Lester all of Burkesville, KY

  • One half brother: Lonnie Spears of Port Saint Lucie, FL

  • Two half sisters: Betty Brown of Burkesville, KY and Lucy Waldrup of Indianapolis, IN

  • Six grandchildren: Tammy Hall, Melissa Hammer, Keith Long, Penny McElhaney, Chad Pruitt, Steven Pruitt

  • Eleven great grandchildren: Michelle King, Elijah Hall, Holly Long, Cody McGuffey, Brook Hammer, Carla Hammer, Luke McElhaney, Jake McElhaney, Tate McElhaney, Isla McElhaney, Chase Pruitt

  • Four great great grandchildren: Noah Hammer, Sophia Hammer, Dominic Hammer, Everleigh King

  • And a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
