Pairlee Montgomery, 100, Adair Co., KY (1916-2017)

Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the matriarch of a large highly regarded family.She was the daughter of the late Bennie & Emma Hardwick Pendleton, and the widow of Raymond Montgomery. She leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Pairlee Montgomery, age 100 years, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 7:20pmCT, at Signature Health Care at Summit Manor in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry Shelley the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family request visitation after 9amCT, Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Pairlee Montgomery, 100, Adair Co., KY (1916-2017)


She was born June 17, 1916 in Adair County, KY the daughter of the late Bennie & Emma Hardwick Pendleton. She died Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 100 years, eight months, and eight days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Montgomery in July 1965 and by these siblings, Tyler Pendleton, Omer Pendleton, Eula Brockman, Rena Weatherford, Dellie Burton, and Lois Curry.

She is survived by:
  • One son: J.D. Montgomery and wife Jeanette of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Terri Burris, Sherri (Ralph) Crawhorn, and Robin Fletcher

  • Five great grandchildren: Shawna Wolford, Tara Franklin, Christopher Fletcher, Jeromy Burris, and Cameron Fletcher

  • Seven great great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Wilmer Pendleton of Harrodsburg, KY; B. I. Pendleton of Greenwood, IN; and Rollin Pendleton of Greenwood, IN
Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
