Mary Eugenia Johnson Hiser, Center, KY (1925-2017)

She was the matriarch of a highly regarded North Metcalfe County, KY family. She was a native of Park, KY, and a resident of Center at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Frank & Marcia Wisdom Johnson, and the widow of James (Bub) Hiser. She leaves 20 direct living descendants.

Mary Eugenia (Johnson) Hiser, age 91 of Center, KY passed away peacefully Thursday, February 23, 2017 with family by her side.

Friends may call on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 11amCT, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY. Services will commence at 1pmCT, with burial immediately following in the Hiser Family Cemetery at Center, KY.

Eugenia was born at home in Park, Barren County, KY April 30, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Marcia (Wisdom) Johnson. She died Thursday, Febrary 23, 2017, at the age of 91 years, nine months, and 24 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Bub) Hiser; and her sisters (twin) Anne Elizabeth and Emily Montrose; brothers William, Paul, Courtney, and Frank (Red) Johnson.

She is survived by:
  • Her six daughters: Mary Helen (Stanley Lawrence, deceased); Marcia (Dan Thacher): Doris (Gil DeVore, deceased): Linda (Harold McKinney); Margaret (David Wisdom); and Emily (Eric Bruton)

  • Her grandchildren: Carmen (Brian) Stodghill, Derek Wildoner, Matt (Courtney) McKinney, Bethany DeVore, Nathan (Dorothy) Thacher, JD Wisdom, Mattie and James Bruton

  • Great grandchildren: Lauren, Reagan, and Kate Wildoner (and their mother Lori), Isaac and Jack McKinney, and Laikynn DeVore Barbee

  • Nieces, nephews, and their families
