Margie Withers Roy, 95, Russell Co, KY (1921-2017)

She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Arch & Luinda Gosser Withers and the widow of Robert Roy. She leaves 21 direct, and four step descendants. Her final resting place will be in Somerset, KY.

Margie Roy, 95, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral service for Margie Roy will be 10amCT, Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Harmon & Bro. Paul Roy officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Saturday, February 11, 2017, and after 8amCT, Sunday. Interment in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens, 4790 W Highway 80, Somerset, KY.

She was born June 21, 1921 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Arch & Luinda Gosser Withers. She died Thursday, February 9, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY,m at the age of 95 years, seven months, and 19 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Roy; son, Jimmy Roy; five sisters and three brothers. Survivors are:
  • Five children: Loretta Thomas (late husband, David Thomas) Dunnville, KY: Mary Rose (Winston) Roy, Russell Springs, KY; Eldon Roy (Doris Simpson), Bronston, KY; Roxanne (James) Reed, Livingston, TN; Cecil (Sharlene) Roy, Dunnville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Three step grandchildren

  • One step great grandchild

  • Six great great grandchildren
