Marsa K. "Mousie" Cox, age 68, of Elk Horn, KY passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Brian Rafferty officiating. Serving as pallbearers are, Casey Gilbert, Cory Cox, Daniel Whitham, Cody Proffitt, Stephen Furkin, Scott Cochran, David Agee and Tony Cox. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery in Taylor County, KY. The family requests visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Monday, February 6, 2017, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

She was born April 3, 1948 in Taylor County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Rue & Bertha Ford. She died Saturday, February 4, 2017, in Elk Horn, KY, at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and one day.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Daniel Ford, Ray Ford, Anita Elmore, Wilma Combs, Nadine Ford, Wilbur Ford, Rue Ford, Jr., Ena Hicks and Zelphia Reece.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church. She had worked for General Electric and Fruit of the Loom. She enjoyed sewing and canning as well as outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting ginseng and mushrooms.

She is survived by her husband Derald Cox, and the following:
  • A son: Rondall Cox and his wife, Gail of Elk Horn, KY

  • A daughter: Lora Baker, and her husband Dean, of Knifley, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Eight great-grandchildren

  • Brothers and sisters: Ruby McDonald, of Louisville, KY; Carl Ford, of Shepherdsville, KY; Ina Humphress of Yuma, KY; Galoris Hedgespeth and Lana Ford of Campbellsville, KY; Shirley James of Indiana, and Eric Ford and Gary Ford of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several other relatives and many friends
