Mr. Charles Edward "Charlie" Wright, age 82, of Summersville, passed away on Thursday night, February 2, 2017, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward "Charlie" Wright will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, February 5, 2017, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Bennett Cemetery, Summersville, KY. Visitation will be from 4pmCT until 8pmCT Saturday, February 4, 2017, and after 7amCT, Sunday at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home.



Mr. Charles Edward "Charlie" Wright, 82, Summersville, KY (1934-2017)


He was the son of the late Henry E. "Bossie" Wright and Dorothy Byrd Wright. He was born August 18, 1934. He died February 2, 2017, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 82 years, five months, and 15 days.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Durrett Wooldredge Wright of Summersville, KY and the following:
  • A step-son & his girl friend: Tony Wooldridge of Summersville, KY & Jackie Livers of Lebanon, KY

  • Two step-daughters & a step-son-in-law: Melinda & Joe Matthews of Hodgenville, KY; and Janet Milby of Summersville, KY & her boyfriend, Bobby Burton of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters & brothers-in-law: Barbara & Mike Bagby of Florida, and Mae & William Earl Milby of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters-in-law: Betty Wright of Summersville, KY; and Jane Wright of Greensburg, KY

  • Ten step-grandchildren

  • Eleven step-great-grandchildren
  • and a host of other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister: Herbert Wright, William W. Wright, Robert Wright, Donnie Wright, and Mary Alice Wright. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Kentucky Trailors, did flooring, mowed yards, and cut wood.
