Lyle Heitz, 88 years of Columbia, KY formerly of Illinois and Colorado, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:03pmCT, at the TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky after several weeks illness

Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Dawson-Wikoff Funeral Home in Mt. Zion, IL. Interment in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois

Lyle Heitz, 88, Adair Co., KY (1928-2017)

He was born June 7, 1928 in Bement, IL. He was the son of the late Russell Glen and Dorothy Jane Pierce Heitz. He died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 88 years, seven months, and 11 days.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sweeney Heitz of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • His children: Karen Norman of Florida, Kathy Hamann of Florida, Karol Levy of Florida, Debbie Jess of Illinois, Sherry Bugle of Illinois, David Heitz of Illinois, Doug Heitz of Florida, and Rik Deaton of Ohio

  • One brother: Russell Jean Heitz of Illinois

  • Several grandchildren and great grandchildren

  • One nephew
Mr. Heitz was a farmer, member of the Elks Lodge # 319 in Cripple Creek, Colorado and a member of the National Rifle Association
