Delbert Ray Garmon, Metcalfe Co., KY (1925-2017)

He was a farmer and World War II navy veteran. He was the patriarch of a respected Subtle area family, the son of the late Perry & Lela Angley Garmon and the widower of Dorothy Marie Janes Garmon. He leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Delbert Ray Garmon age 91 of the Subtle community of Metcalfe County passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Moore Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, January 30, 2017, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the funeral home.



Delbert Ray Garmon, Metcalfe Co., KY (1925-2017)


Delbert was the son of the late Perry and Lela Angley Garmon. He was born November 5, 1925. He died Saturday, January 28, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 91 years, two months, and 23 days.

He was a farmer and World War II navy veteran.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Donny (Laura) Garmon of Glasgow, KY; and Jay (Bethany) Garmon of Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Melissa Jewell, Shelly McIntyre, Makayla Garmon, Cooper and Piper Garmon

  • Three great grandchildren: Nakiya Hodges, Sierra Riddle and Lucas McIntyre
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Janes Garmon; a daughter Debra Kay Garmon; four brothers. Herman, Sherman, Ellis and Rufus Garmon; and a sister, Essie Garrett.
