Mr. Robert David Skaggs, 84, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2017) Mr. Skaggs professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church. He was a carpenter and farmer, and found contentment living a simple and honest life. As a young man, he answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Army. His life of service to others would continue throughout his years, and in 1983, he was recognized and commissioned a Kentucky Colonel. There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Skaggs on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11amCT/12pmNoonET,of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Drew Underwood will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Full military honors will be conducted by the Adair County VFW Post 6097. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Friday, January 20, 2017. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at his home, being 84 years, 9 months, and 4 days of age. Mr. Skaggs professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church. He was a carpenter and farmer, and found contentment living a simple and honest life. As a young man, he answered the call to duty and served his country honorably in the United States Army.
