Dora (Dodie) Skaggs, 78, Columbia, KY (1938-2016)

She was of the Pentecostal Faith and a long time employee & retired from First & Farmers National Bank. She was a native of Barren County, KY, and a longtime resident of Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ralph & Lora Hurt Williams. Her husband, Garland D. Skaggs, survives, along with eight step-descendants.

Dora "Dodie" Skaggs, age 78 of Columbia, KY passed away suddenly at 10:48pmCT Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her home.

Funeral service: Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Troy Strange & Bro. Jody Perkins the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Dora (Dodie) Skaggs, 78, Adair Co., KY (1938-2016)

She was born February 25, 1938 in Barren County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ralph & Lora Hurt Williams. She died Thursday, January 5, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 11 days.

She was preceded in death by one step son Samuel Skaggs.

She is survived by her husband Garland D. Skaggs of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two step-sons: Mike Skaggs and his wife Angie, and Robert Skaggs, all of of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three brothers: Buddy Williams and his wife Shirley; Harry Williams and his wife Marilyn, and Larry Williams and his wife Margaret, all of of Cave City, KY

  • Six step grandchildren

  • Six step great grandchildren

  • several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews

  • Special friends: Pat Dorman & Wanda Mauk
