Mr. Richard - R.D. - Johnson, Taylor Co., KY (1928-2016)

Mr. Johnson lived a simple but honest life, and was an upstanding example to the community. He was the proud husband of Mrs. Lanora (Judd) Johnson, and they shared their lives until her passing in 2014. He was a successful farmer, and enjoyed raising a garden or simply sitting on his porch watching the traffic and sharing stories with friends and family.

Mr. Richard "R.D." Johnson of Taylor County, KY entered into rest on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Johnson on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Freddy Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in the 200 block of West Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 26, after 10:30amCT/11:30amET.



Mr. Richard - R.D. - Johnson, Taylor Co., KY (1928-2016)

Born on December 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Thomas Hendricks and Edmonia Cessna (Purcell) Johnson. He died Friday, December 23, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY at the age of 88 years and 4 days.

Mr. Johnson lived a simple but honest life, and was an upstanding example to the community.

He was the proud husband of Mrs. Lanora (Judd) Johnson, and they shared their lives until her passing in 2014. He was a successful farmer, and enjoyed raising a garden or simply sitting on his porch watching the traffic and sharing stories with friends and family.

He leaves to mourn his passing:
  • One sister: Stella Thomas Morrison of Campbellsville, KY

  • Generations of nieces and nephews including: Teresa Kibodeaux, Gary Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Ashton Johnson, and Christy Trevillian,

  • A cousin and close friend: Roger Lee Beams of Taylor County, KY

  • And a host of extended family and close friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Hiestand Johnson, and a nephew Wayne Johnson.
