Norma Sue Smith, 75, Russell County, KY (1941-2016)

She had worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation and was a member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Johnny & Arlie Absher Ford, and the widow of Rev. Donnie K. Smith. She leaves five direct living descendants.

Norma Sue Smith, 75, of Jamestown, KY, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Norma Sue Smith will be 10amCT, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Coffey, Bro. Richie Curtis, and Bro. Randy Brown officiating. Visitation 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, December 2, 2016, and after 8amCT, Saturday till funeral time.



Pallbearers: Jacob Smith, Dwight Roy, Dale Roy, Brandon Luttrell Waylon Wright, and John Ford.

Norma Sue Smith, 75, Russell County, KY (1941-2016)

She was born March 30, 1941 in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Johnny & Arlie Absher Ford. She died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 75 years, seven months, and 30 days.

She had worked for the Kentucky Department of Transportation and was a member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Donnie K. Smith; daughter, Tammy Smith; and a sister, Elizabeth Roy.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Wayne Smith, Jamestown, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Matthew, Chelsea, and Jacob Smith

  • One great grandchild: Conner Works

  • Two brothers: Bob (Diana) Ford, Russell Springs, KY; and Dean (Connie) Ford, Russell Springs, KY
