Luda Stephens, 92, of Russell Springs, KY, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown, KY.

Funeral service for Luda Stephens will be 2pmCT on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Andy Robertson officiating. Visitation will be after 12pmCT on Monday. Interment will be in the Parks Ridge Cemetery.

She was born January 26, 1924 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin & Ida Lockard Johnson. She died Thursday November 24, 2016, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 92 years, nine months, and 29 days.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Alpha "Shorty" Stephens; three infant children; four sisters, Rachel Smith, Maudie Popplewell, Ollie Popplewell, Molly Roy; and a brother, Julius Johnson.

Survivors include:
  • Two children: Lowanna Tompkins of Russell Springs, and Judy (Kenneth) Hay of Jamestown

  • Four grandchildren: Dana (Andy) Robertson, Donna Martin, Katisha (Dewayne) Wilson, Myra (Christopher) Ford
  • Eight great grandchildren

  • One great great grandchild
