Mrs. Juanita Beams Buchanan, 88, Green Co., KY (1928-2016)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was also a clerk for the former Henderson's five & dime, and was a homemaker. She was a native of Green County, a resident of the county at the time of her death, and final resting place will be in Summersville, Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ford Beams and Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Cowherd Beams, and the widow of Robert A Buchanan, her husband of over 62 years.

Mrs. Juanita Beams Buchanan, 88 of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Wright's Care Home in Green County, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Beams Buchanan was conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Ty Clenney and Bro. Blake Jessie officiating. Visitation was after 8amCT, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Jerry Hall, Danny Buchanan, Lowell Miller, Terry Bishop, Terry Aaron, and Donnie Buchanan.

Mrs. Juanita Beams Buchanan of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Ford Beams and Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Cowherd Beams, was born on September 5, 1928 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Wright's Care Home in Green County. She was 88 years, two months, and 11 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was also a clerk for the former Henderson's five & dime, and a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Robert A. Buchanan on December 24, 1947 who preceded her in death on June 13, 2010.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter: Sharon Buchanan Beauchamp of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Ethel Rattliff of Summersville, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Elsie Beams of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Buchanan was also preceded in death by her son-in-law: Randy Beauchamp on April 19, 2007; an infant brother and brother: J.R. Beams; and a sister: Perry Beams Hall Scott.
