Yesterday marked a first for Adair County. County Judge Executive Mike Stephens reminds us, when Los Dos Lunas, 1764 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY, opened to serve drinks at a bar in the restaurant, Thursday, October 20, 2016. The new Mexican Restaurant was a busy place yesterday.

Bona fide historians will have to say exactly how long since - if ever - Adair County had a legal bar - and whether the renowned Epp's Place, on the North Walk off the Square in Columbia, was one of those. That would have been in the 1930's, after Prohibition ended and all of America had legal sales, but before the county voted to become bone dry again.

The new restaurant has been remodeled, with new color themes, new decor, and an all new kitchen with state-of-the-art equipment. It is in the city limits, and has two ABC licenses, an NQ-2 Retail Drink License, and a Special Sunday Retail Drink License.

The restaurant is on property leased from Grider Rental Properties, LLC. Partners in the business are Rafael A. Ortega, and Rigoberto (Rigo) Ayala Ortega.

Rigo Ayala is the active manager of the property.

The company also operates a Mexican restaurant La Fonda, 121 S Main Street, in Harrodsburg, KY.
