Essie M. Taylor, Casey County, KY (1921-2016)

She was a homemaker and member of the New Testament Baptist Church. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late James and Berusha Peyton Ellis, and the widow of Elmer Robert "Tiny" Taylor. She leaves eight direct living descendants.

Essie M. Taylor passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital. She was 94 years young.

Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, Kym with Bro. George Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 9amCT/10amET, until funeral service.



Pallbearers are Adam Taylor, Chris Caspar, Evan Caspar, Rudy Mullins, Conner Caspar, and John Ellis.

Born December 20, 1921 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James and Berusha Peyton Ellis. She died Thursday, October 20, 2016, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 94 years, 10 months.

She was a homemaker and member of the New Testament Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Robert "Tiny" Taylor, who died July 1, 1985; two brothers, James and Eugene; and three sisters, Mary, Edna, and Lena.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Bobby (and JoAnn) Taylor of Liberty, KY

  • A daughter: Mary Jo (and Don) Payton of Shelbyville, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • And three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the New Testament Baptist Church in Liberty, KY in memory of Essie M. Taylor.
