Summer Shade gets 1st Malt Beverage licenses in Metcalfe Co.

Convenience stores in Southwest Metcalfe County receive first ABC Licenses since county voted to end eight decades of prohibition on June 28, 2016

Two NQ Retail Malt Beverage Package License were issued on Friday, October 14, 2016 to two convenience stores in Summer Shade, KY.


The licenses are the first issued in Metcalfe County since the county voted to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on 28 June 2016. (Metcalfe Co. Wet/Dry Vote 28 Jun 2016 precinct totals) by a vote of 1865-1658. The two outlets receiving the licenses are:
  • Newcomb Oil Co. LLC, 4770 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY.

  • EZ Mart, 2241 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY
The effective date of the licenses is October 14, 2016, but the start of sales has not yet been announced.
