Kathy Cheryl Skaggs, age 60, of Taylor County, KY died Monday, October 10, 2016, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10amCT/11amET, Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home Chapel, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with burial in the Beams Cemetery. The family request visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

She was born March 31, 1956 in Taylor County, KY. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Frances Beams Skaggs. She died Monday, October 10, 2016, in Taylor County, KY, at the age of 60 years, six months, and ten days.

A published author, she enjoyed writing poetry. She was a communications specialist for the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence and a member of Ottercreek Baptist Church.

She is survived by:
  • Two sons and their spouses: Jacob and Lynette Gibson of Mississippi and Nathan and Vrushali Gibson of Oregon

  • Three grandchildren: William, Kiran, and Naveen Gibson

  • Her mother, Frances Beams Skaggs of Taylor County, KY

  • One sister: Karen Skaggs of Bowling Green, KY
