Diann Long, 69, Casey Co., KY (1947-2016)

Diann was a member of the Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and a homemaker. She was a foster parent for 16 years and member/treasure of the Dorcas Quilting Club.

Diann Long passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home in Casey County, KY. She was 69 years old.

Visitation is Friday, September 30, 2016, from Noon to 3pmET at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville St., Liberty, KY. Funeral services are at 3pmET on Friday, September 30, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. David Clark and Bro. Boyd Rowe officiating.


Born September 16, 1947 in McCreary County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Goldie Stanfill Rowe. Diann was a member of the Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and a homemaker. She was a foster parent for 16 years and member/treasure of the Dorcas Quilting Club.

Survivors include
  • Her husband, Buddy Long, whom she married in 1984
  • Five sons, Jonathon (and Jennifer) Shoemaker and Tommy Long, both of Liberty, Mark (and Rachel) Long of Lexington, Lionel (and Melanie) Long of Panama City, Florida, and Loren (and Laura) Long of Salvisa
  • Four daughters, Sylvia (and James) Stinson, Ashely (and John) Blevins, and Rachel Long, all three of Liberty, and Leeza Long of Danville
  • Sixteen grandchildren
  • Eight great grandchildren
  • Three sisters, Sylvia Stephens of McCreary County, Eleanor Malkowski of Montana, and Hazel Duvall Of Liberty;
  • Three brothers, Leroy, Ronald, and Boyd Rowe, all of McCreary County
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Stanton Long; grandchild, Tyler Cook; sister, Jean Rowe; and best friend, Mary Lee Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are: Lionel Long, Jonathon Shoemaker, Tommy Long, James Stinson, John Blevins and Taylor Cook.
