Gerald Wade Coomer, 64, Adair Co., KY (1952-2016)

He was a member of a distinguished Adair County, KY family. He was the son of the late Wallace & Claudia Brown Coomer. His wife, Cindy Coomer, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was serving as the Lay Leader. He was a retired school teacher, coach and Administrator for the Adair County Board of Education for 27 years, and he was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge # 96

Gerald Wade Coomer, age 64 years, of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, September 26, 2016, at 9:50amCT, at his home.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2pmCT, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2418 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Steve Pescosolido the officiating clergy. Internment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be Thursday, September 29, 2016, after 4pmCT, and Friday, September 30, 2016 after 6amCT, until time of service at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Born May 25, 1952 in Adair County. He was the son of the late Wallace J. & Claudia Brown Coomer of Adair County, KY. He died Monday, September 26, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 64 years, four months, and one day.

Survived by the following:
  • His wife: Cynthia Loy Coomer of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Christopher Wade Coomer and his wife Tiffany Corbin Coomer; and Benjamin Joseph Coomer, all of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Judie Alley Rice and her husband Bob of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Richie Coomer and his wife Sue of Columbia, KY

  • Grandson: Braeden Wade Coomer

  • Several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends survives
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was serving as the Lay Leader. He was a retired school teacher, coach and Administrator for the Adair County Board of Education for 27 years, he was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge # 96

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Trinity United Methodist Church, Gideon Bibles or American Diabetes Association and may be left at the church or the funeral home
