He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, and had worked as a lineman for Taylor County Rural Electric in Columbia & Campbellsville, KY, and Farmers Rural Electric in Glasgow, KY. He was a member of a highly regarded Adair County Family. He was the son of the late James Albert & Bessie Jane Bohannon Bryant. He leaves six direct living descendants.

Lawrence E. Bryant age 76 years, of Columbia, KY, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 11:55pmCT, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN

Funeral service will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. with Bro. Bill Scott the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT Thursday at the funeral home.



Lawrence E. Bryant, 76, Adair County, KY


He was born on April 24, 1940 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late James Albert & Bessie Jane Bohannon Bryant of Adair County. He died Sunday, September 25, 2016, in Nashville, Davidson County, TN, at the age of 76 years, four months, and one day.

He was preceded in death by three brothers & three sisters, Robert "Bob" Bryant, James Bryant, Stanley Bryant, Lucille Absher Turner, Ruth Bohannon & Beatrice Nancy Lindquist

He is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Susan Colter & her husband Greg of Bowling Green, KY

  • One sister: Norene Breeding of Bowling Green, KY

  • Long time companion: Shirley Dunbar of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Heather (T.J.) Ross of Bowling Green, KY; and Wes (Emily) Colter of Bowling Green, KY

  • Three great grandchildren: Grady Ross, Trent Ross & Kaleb Colter

  • Several nieces, nephews

  • And host of other relatives and friends
