Rev. Greg Rueda, 61, Taylor Co., KY (1955-2016)

Rev. Rueda was a retiree of CSX Transportation, where he had worked several years as a supervisor on the railway lines. After a lengthy courtship, he married his sweetheart Brenda Graham on April 15, 2015 and together they shared many distinctive experiences. Rev. Reuda professed faith in Christ. He was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. Ever selfless, he gained great joy from encouraging others in their walk with Christ, and his considerate heart allowed him to instantly connect with and uplift those of all faiths and denominations. He leaves five direct and two step living descendants.

Rev. Greg Rueda of Campbellsville, son of the late Albert Rueda and Jean and Philip "Popo" Scudieri, was born on August 29, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago after failing to recover from a medical procedure.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Rev. Rueda on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10amCT/11amET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Jim Collison will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.

Rev. Greg Rueda of Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, son of the late Albert Rueda and Jean and Philip "Popo" Scudieri, was born on August 29, 1955 in Chicago, Cook County, IL. He departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Chicago, Cook County, IL. He was 61 years and 3 days of age.

Rev. Rueda was a retiree of CSX Transportation, where he had worked several years as a supervisor on the railway lines. After a lengthy courtship, he married his sweetheart Brenda Graham on April 15, 2015 and together they shared many distinctive experiences. Rev. Reuda professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory:

  • His wife: Brenda Rueda of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three children: Gregory Rueda, Jr., Joshua Rueda, and Jessica Rueda Lindemulder, all of Chicago, IL

  • Two grandchildren: Trace Rueda and Benjimen Rueda

  • A stepdaughter: Rebecca Fox of Chicago,IL

  • Step-grandchildren: Christopher Fox, Andrew Fox, and Ava Rose

  • Four sisters: Christina Wethington of Greensburg, KY; Olivia "Bo" Wethington of Greensburg, KY; Cynthia Rueda of Illinois, and Angelina Scudieri and companion Mercedes Medina of Greensburg, KY

  • One brother: Clark Rueda of Chicago, IL

  • His mother-in-law and father-in-law: Dorothy Graham Skaggs and W.C. Skaggs of Campbellsville, IL

  • One brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Marshall and Denise Graham of Campbellsville, IL

  • Several nieces, nephews, and cousins

  • And a host of extended family and friends.
Ministry and cooking were two of Rev. Rueda's favorite pastimes. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of contributions to the kitchen department of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. Those can be made online through the "How Can I Help" tab on the front page of this site, or in person at the funeral home or church.
