Martha Hoover passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her home on South Fork Ridge Road in Liberty, KY. She was 76 years old.

Visitation is Friday, August 26, from 3pmET-6pmET in her home at 2261 South Fork Ridge Road, Liberty, KY 42539. Funeral services are Saturday, August 27, at 9:30amET at Cedar Hill Mennonite Church, with James Shirk and Edward Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.


Born November 4, 1939 in Lancaster County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul B. Nolt and Lydia Ann Martin Nolt Zimmerman. She sied Wednesday, August 24, 2016, in Casey County, KY, at the age of 76 years, nine months, and 20 days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Cedar Hill Mennonite Church.

Survivors include
  • Her husband, Harvey N. Hoover, whom she married in 1960
  • Five sons: David N. (and Ruth) Hoover , Ervin N. (and Carolyn) Hoover, and Samuel N. (and Dorothy) Hoover all of Mifflinburg, PA, Aaron N. (and Dorcas) Hoover of Liberty and Ivan N. (and Ruth) Hoover of Spencer, TN
  • Four daughters: Verna N. (and Aaron) Leinbach of Elkton, KY, Edna N. (and Leroy) Zimmerman of Bradford, PA, Lydia Ann N. (and Eugene) Oberholtzer of Mifflinburg, PA, and Lena N. (and Lewis) Zimmerman of Pearisburg, VA
  • Fifty-three grandchildren
  • Twenty-nine great-grandchildren
  • Two brothers: Irwin M. (and Lena Mae) Nolt of East Earl, PA and Norma M. (and Lena) of Mifflinburg, PA
  • Five sisters: Esther Nolt (and Edwin) Zimmerman of New Holland, PA, Verna Nolt Shirk of Leola, PA, Almeta Nolt (and Erwin) Sensenig of Shiloh, OH, Sue Etta Nolt Garmanof Martinsburg, PA, and Ella Mae Nolt (and Ervin) Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond M. Nolt; a sister, Anna Mary Nolt Reiff; and a grandchild.
