She was a retired bookkeeper for State Highway Department and attended Royville Friendship Church. She was the daughter of thge late Home McKinzie andEdith Jewell Anderson Bottom. She was a native of Russell County, a resident of the county at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in the county of her birth.

Carolyn Bottom, 79, of Russell Springs, died Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service for Carolyn Bottom will be 11amCT, Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs,KY, with Bro. Charles Edwards officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Wednesday. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.



Carolyn Bottom, 79, Russell County, KY


She was born June 9, 1937 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Homer McKinzie & Edith Jewell Anderson Bottom. She died Monday, August 22, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 79 years, two months, and 13 days.

She was a retired bookkeeper for State Highway Department and attended Royville Friendship Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lyman Bottom, and a sister, Betty Foley.

Survivors include:
  • Four sisters: Olena Akers, Jamestown, KY; Maxine Clayton, Louisville, KY; Mary Ann (Jimmy) Rubarts, Louisville, KY; and Brenda (Jerry) Holt, Russell Springs, KY

  • One brother: H. M. (Sue) Bottom, Russell Springs, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Joye Bottom, Russell Springs, KY

  • And a host of nieces and nephews
Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs in charge of arrangements.
