Mitzi Bault writes on God's gifts and life questions

'I thank God for every day I have on this earth, but I still wonder, why me?' - Mitzi, who writes of life's blessings, memories of a wonderful father and her thoughtful grandmother, and asks for prayers for her Cravens family and the Scott girls.

By Mitzi Bault

Today was just a take me away day. Thanks to Robyn Curry. We met at Snake Creek and put in the kayaks. We paddled around for over 4 hours. It was wonderful to be on the water right in the middle of God's gifts. Fish jumping, birds, two large egrets. We stopped on a little sand bar and just sat and enjoyed our soundings.

A beautiful butterfly landed on my leg. It just sat there for a long time. I have been told by my Grandmother Audrey Waggener that when a butterfly lands on you, it is a sign from heaven. I think it was a sign from my dear friend that was layed to rest today.

It is hard for me to understand, I know a lot of people have gone through different cancers. Some have have survived and some not. But I keep going back to me. In 1998 I had breast cancer. I did 28 radiation treatments and 5 years on a drug. In 07 with stage 3c ovarian cancer which has a very low survival rate. Five years at the most.

In 2010 Breast cancer and both removed. In 2012 my ovarian came back on my pancreas, liver and spleen. My father passed and I had to tell my mom that I had to be in Louisville the next day. I really thought 3 to 6 months.

That was 4 years ago this March. I thank God for every day I have on this earth, but I still wonder: why me?

Prayers please for my Cravens family and for the Scott girls. Hope all had a great day. Lot's of love from McKinley Lane. - Mitzi Bault
