Marilyn Ann Owens, 84, Russell Co., KY (1932-2016)  She was a member of a distinguished Russell County, KY, family. She will be remembered for her warmth and her smile which made the grayest days brighter, and for her stay in Adair County, KY, for the time she lived here while her late husband, Lewis Owens, was employed at WAIN radio. She was the daughter of the late Jonas Grady & Laura Frances Hopper Hammond of Russell County, KY and a sister of Gilbert Hammond. She was a Presbyterian in faith, and a member of Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church. Marilyn was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She will be remembered for her warm smile and compassion for others. While her accomplishments in life were many, the most important to her were her husband and three children. A plaque given to her at the time of her retirement from the health field may sum her up the best: "An outstanding lady who dedicated most of her working life to caring for others with much understanding and empathy. A role model for all to achieve excellence. We will greatly miss your presence."
