Carl S. Coomer, 78, Adair County, KY (1939-2016)

He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church & had worked at Edmonton Manufacturing. He waa a native of Nell, Adair County, KY, and a resident of the Gradyville Community of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of a highly regarded family, the son of the late Hollis & Bertie Brown Coomer. His wife, Sylvia Gowen Coomer, survives. He leaves six direct living descendants.

Carl S. Coomer, age 78, years of Edmonton Road, Columbia, KY passed away Sunday July 24, 2016 at 4:03amCT, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral service for Carl S. Coomer will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11amCT, at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 124 Weed-Keltner Road, Columbia, KY. Interment in Moore Cemetery, 225 Prices Creek Road, Adair Co., KY Visitation after 4pmCT, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



Carl S. Coomer, 78, Adair County, KY (1939-2016)

He was born January 27, 1938 at Nell, KY in Adair County. He was the son of the late Hollis & Bertie Brown Coomer. He died Sunday, July 23, 2016, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 78 years, five months,and 26 days.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Gowen Coomer of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Sheila Sexton & husband Mike of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Cordell Coomer of Milltown, KY

  • One sister: Ineze Blythe & husband Danvel of Louisville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Melanie Isbell & husband Robbie & Matthew Sexton & wife Aimee

  • Three great grandchildren: Asher Isbell, Asa Isbell & Mayes Sexton

  • Special nephew: Rodney Blythe

  • Also a host of other relatives & friends survives
He was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church & had worked at Edmonton Manufacturing.
