Wayne Dougherty, Metcalfe County, KY (1929-2016)

He was a farmer and member of the New Liberty Baptist Church. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family. He was theson of the late Welby and Mary Lou Smith Dougherty, andthe widower of Ruth Bray Dougherty. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Wayne Dougherty age 87 of Knob Lick, KY, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at NHC Health Care in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 3pmCT, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10amCT, Sunday until service time Sunday at the funeral home.


Wayne Dougherty, Metcalfe County, KY (1929-2016)

He was the son of the late Welby and Mary Lou Smith Dougherty. He was born February 14, 2016. He died Thursday, July 14, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 87 years, five months.

He was a farmer and member of the New Liberty Baptist Church.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Judy South of Knob Lick, KY; and Sherry (Tim) South of Edmonton

  • One sister: Linda Perkins, of Glasgow, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Lori Eastridge of Elizabethtown, KY; and Matthew South of Edmonton, KY

  • Four great grandchildren

  • Five great great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Bray Dougherty and a son in law David South.
