Mr. Virgil Herbert Pierce, age 91, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his residence in Burkesville.

Funeral services for Virgil Herbert Pierce will be conducted on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 1pmCT, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Ridge Road, Breeding , KY. The family will receive friends after 3pmCT, on Saturday, July 2, 2016 until the funeral hour on Sunday.


He is survived by his wife, Ruth Myers Pierce of Burkesville, KY, and the following:
  • His son: Danny (and Joetta) Pierce of Burkesville, KY,/li>
  • His daughters, June (and Larry) Geralds of Gamaliel, KY; Nancy (and Stephen) Riddle of Burkesville, KY; Judy (and Michael) Tucker of Red Boiling Springs, TN

  • His brothers: Lonnie (and Sarah) Pierce of Anderson, IN; and Shannon (and Brenda) Pierce of Glasgow, KY

  • His sisters: Edith Froman of Daleville, IN; Maxine Mitchell of Anderson, IN; Uldean Scott of Anderson, IN

  • Five grandchildren: Sheryl (and Brian) Scott, Angie Geralds, Donny Geralds, Jon Tucker , Tristan Tucker

  • Four great-grandchildren: Kyle (and Jessica) Rowe, Ethan Rowe, Melanie Blythe, Jamie Meek

  • Step-great-grandchild: Jordan Scott

  • A great-great-granddaughter: Presley Rowe
