Valois T. Shuffett, 97, Green Co., KY (1918-2016)

She was the widow of Lester Shuffett. She leaves 13 direct living descendants. She will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Green County, KY. She worked for Bacon's, Dillards, Burlington, and most recently, Churchhill Downs. She volunteered at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years.

Valois T. Shuffett of Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her home.

Graveside services for Valois T. Shuffett will be held at 10amCT/11amET, Eastern Time, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery in Green County. Visitation was requested from 3pm until 7pmCT, Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY.



Valois T. Shuffett, 97, Green Co., KY (1918-2016)


Valois T. Shuffett was the daughter of the late Fleming Letcher Taylor and Della Smith Taylor. She was born on October 26, 1918 in Ohio County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her home in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was 97 years of age.

She worked for Bacon's, Dillards, Burlington, and most recently, Churchhill Downs. She volunteered at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years.

She united in marriage to Lester Shuffett who preceded her in death.

She is survived by
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Marcia and Bobby Denham and Patricia and Robin Pawley

  • Three grandchildren: Tim Denham, Tony Denham, and Abigail Pawley

  • Eight great-grandchildren: Robbie, Rachel, Ellen, Audrey, Brooke, Brenna, Baylee and Bella Grace Denham
