Leoma Shive White, Taylor County., KY; Metcalfe Co. KY native (1940-2016)

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She retired from Campbellsville Independent School System after a career as a third grade teacher in 1986. She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, at the time of her death in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Otha Shive and the late Era Turner Shive. Her husband of over 58 years, Harlie White, survives. She leaves eight direct living descendants.

Leoma S. White, 76, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5:35amET, Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service for Leoma S. White will be at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Dr. Mike O'Neal, Rev. J. Alvin Hardy and Rev. Paul J. Dicken. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitatatin wll be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Leoma S. White, Taylor County, KY (1940-2016)


Leoma S. White was the daughter of the late Otha Shive and Era Turner Shive. She was born March 27, 1940,in Metcalfe County, KY. She died Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 76 years, two months, and one day.

Leoma retired from Campbellsville Independent School System as a third grade teacher in 1986. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Harlie White May 24, 1958.

Besides her husband, Harlie White of Campbellsville, KY, she is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Jeff White and wife, Sharon of Louisville, KY; and Greg White and wife, Trish of Nashville, TN

  • Five grandchildren: Abbie White, Leigh White, Dylan White, of Louisville, KY; and Phillip White and Stuart White of Nashville, TN

  • One great granddaughter: Harley Meadows of Louisville, KY

  • One brother and one sister: Welbie Shive and wife, Janice of Indianapolis, IN; and Connie Smith of Hermitage, TN

  • One sister-in-law: Evadine Abney of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Sixteen nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Keith and Linda Shive.
