VFW Auxiliary will place flags on graves of veterans Money for the flags donated by Walmart. By Fred Troutman The VFW Auxiliary, Post 6097, Columbia, KY, is going to be placing flags on the graves of veterans in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Saturday, May 21, 2016, beginning at 10amCT. Money for the flags was donated by Walmart. Every Memorial Day weekend some individual families place flags on graves of loved ones, but I don't recall an organized effort like this one taking place Saturday. - Fred Troutman Anyone who wishes is welcome to come out to observe these solemn tributes taking place.. The Cemetery is an excellent place to walk in a safe, serene place, but please be mindful and respectful of the occasion. - Ed & Linda Waggener This story was posted on 2016-05-20 07:48:13
