Mary McKinley Pelly, 93, Adair County, KY (1922-2016)

She was a devoted member of Columbia United Methodist Church, a retired factory worker and a homemaker. She loved travel, her flowers, and her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Felix & Essie Triplett McKinley. Her husband of 74 years, Samuel Pelly, survives. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Mary Pelly, 93, of Columbia, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:35amCT, at her home.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Neil Janes & Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the funeral home.



Mary McKinley Pelly, 93, Adair County, KY (1922-2016)

She was born Tuesday, June 13, 1922, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Felix & Essie Triplett McKinley. She died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at her home in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 20 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon McKinley, and two sisters, Mildred Frank and Marie Holladay.

She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church, a retired factory worker and a homemaker. Mary loved travel, her flowers, and her family and friends.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband of 74 Years: Samuel Pelly of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Don (Phyllis) Pelly of Harrodsburg, KY

  • One daughter: Linda Pelly of Louisville, KY

  • One grandchild: Erin (Patrick) Finnegan of Bellbrook, OH

  • Three great-grandchildren: Sam, Will & Hadley Finnegan

  • Several nieces, nephews, cousins & friends

In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy be in the form of a donation to Columbia United Methodist Church or Hosparus of Green River. These may be made at the funeral home.
