Rollin J. Keltner added to Veterans List

Memorial Day is just weeks away. Be sure to check the ColumbiaMagazine.com Veteran's List and make sure your family members are properly listed.

By Jim

A name for the veterans list: Rollin J. Keltner

Documentation: according to a death notice / tribute in the May 3, 1916 News written by his mother, Rollin was the son of Uriah and Alta Keltner, and he died on April 23, 1916, age 21. "Some five weeks ago, for some unknown reason, he secretly joined the army at Springfield, Ill., and went from there to Jefferson Barracks, Mo., where he took the measles, and that terminated in acute bronchal pneumonia and resulted in death." (The death certificate verifies his age, death date, place and cause of death, and that he was an enlistee of the US Army.)
