Creative Adair teacher sets up murder mystery as teaching tool Click on headline for complete story, photo(s) By Shamarie Harper Ms. Cindy Walker is always finding great ways to keep her students intrigued and engaged. Last week was no different. Ms. Walkers 8th Grade Advanced Reading Class has been reading a murder mystery. So in a lesson developed to bring terms and events of the story full circle. Ms. Walker created an opportunity for students to use their High Order Thinking and Critical Thinking Skills during her hands on Murder Mystery created in her classroom. Each of her 23 students in the class created a data sheet about themselves and then she made up a suspect folder for each student. When they entered Ms. Walker's room Friday they were allowed to view victim and crime scene. Throughout the day clues were given during each class period with the help of Ms. Walkers fellow 8th grade teachers. Students truly enjoyed the activity and what a wonderful way to implant key terms and the elements of a genera of reading material as a hands on experiences. Way to go Ms. Walker!
