Helen Marie Spradlin, 84, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2015)

She enjoyed singing and meeting with her friends at Druthers. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sally Hardwick Gilpin and the widow of Elmon Spradlin. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Helen Marie Spradlin, age 84, of Campbellsville died Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT/2pmET, Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 N Main Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Dwayne Lobb officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family requests visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET Monday, April 11, 2016. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Helen Marie Spradlin, 84, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2015)

Helen was born on July 18, 1931 to the late Clyde and Sally Hardwick Gilpin in Casey County, KY. She died Thursday, April 7, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 84 years, eight months, and 20 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmon Spradlin who passed away on September 12, 1987. Also preceding her were her siblings, Judy Buck, Teresa Bright and Ronald Gilpin and her son-in-law, Gerald Ford.

She enjoyed singing and meeting with her friends at Druthers.

She is survived by:
  • Her daughter: Sharon Ford of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Christopher Ford and Chad Ford of Campbellsville, KY; and Jennifer Haffly and her husband, Tony of Winchester

  • Three great-grandchildren, John Crain, Rinoa Haffly and Ezekiel Ford

  • A sister, Margie Hughes of Campbellsville, KY
