John D. (Curly) Wilson, 80, Russell Co., KY (1935-2016)

He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Arnie Estill & Affie Popplewell Wilson, and the widower of Delphen Watson Wilson. He leaves 18 direct living descendants.

John D. "Curly" Wilson, 80, of Russell Springs, KY, a resident of Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for John D. "Curly" Wilson will be 2pmCT, Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Donald Wilson officiating. Visitation will be after 6pmCT, Saturday. Interment in the Pine Grove Cemetery, in Russell County, KY.



Active Pallbearers: Steven Grider, Jordan Palmer, Jamie Hunter, Chris Eastham, Marshall Mann, and Dave Boyd.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jeremy Hunter, Josh Thomas, Austin Thomas, and Jason Bright.

He was born June 2, 1935 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Arnie Estill & Affie Popplewell Wilson. He died Thursday, April 7, 2016, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and five days.

He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delphene Watson Wilson and two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include:
  • Two children: Eric Wilson and his wife Angie, Russell Springs, KY; and Rhonda Hunter and her husband Jamie, Mt. Vernon, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren
  • Two brothers: Elvin J. "Dut" Wilson and his wife, Gail, Russell Springs, KY; and Arnie Lee "Frog" Wilson and his wife Betty, Franklin, IN
  • Send condolences to the family of John D. (Curly) Wilson

    Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
