He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the Bertha Marie George Guffey and the late Lilburn Guffey. He leaves five direct living descendants and many relatives in Russell and Adair Counties.

Bennie George, age 63 years, Russell Springs, KY, passed away, Wednesday, April 06, 2016 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington KY.

Funeral services will be at 2pmCT, Sunday April 10, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY with Br. Nick Armstrong officiating. Visitation will be Saturday April 09, 2016 5pmCT till 9pmCT, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Rippetoe Cemetery Jamestown, KY.



Bennie George, 63, Russell Co., KY (1952-2016)


He was born on Wednesday, May 14, 1952 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the Bertha Marie George Guffey and the late Lilburn George. He died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

He was proceded in death by his father, Lilburn George.

In addition to his mother, he is also survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Teena Marie Lopez, Russell Springs, KY; and Crystal Gale Jacobs, Russell Springs, KY

  • One sister: Martha Hudson, Jamestown, KY

  • Three brothers: Larry George, Columbia, KY; Norman George, Russell Springs, KY; and Clarence George, Russell Springs, KY

  • Five grandchildren
