From Commonwealth News Center News from KY Attorney General Andy Beshear FRANKFORT, KY. (7 Apr 2016) - Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Department of Criminal Investigations today announced Cary W. Pembleton, 55, of Taylor County, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for possessing 270,000 child porn images. Pembleton plead guilty back in January to 100 felony counts of possession of a matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and one felony count of distribution of a matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He was sentence last week in Taylor County Circuit Court. Pembleton will be required to register as a sex offender and complete a sex offender treatment program. "Our families are just a little bit safer with another child sex offender behind bars," Beshear said. "I applaud the tireless work of the Cyber Crimes Unit to ensure justice is served to those who prey on our children. It is a top priority of my office to protect our most vulnerable children." Beshear's Cyber Crimes Unit, a division of the Department of Criminal Investigations, did the forensic examination of Pembleton's electronic media at the time of his arrest in July. The work of the Cyber Crimes Unit is part of Beshear's core mission to keep sexual predators away from Kentucky's families and children. This story was posted on 2016-04-07 15:10:42
