LWC softball hosts Cumberland in MSC doubleheader today By David Gerhart The ninth-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball returns to action today as they are set to host Cumberland (Tenn.) at Lindsey Wilson Park for a doubleheader slated to start at 3pmCT. The Blue Raiders come into the matchup on Tuesday with a record of 28-10 and they are 13-3 in the Mid-South Conference after sweeping Georgetown (Ky.) last weekend. Lindsey Wilson has won their last eight games, all coming against MSC opponents. Callum Pilgrim has led the Blue Raiders with 56 hits and a .434 batting average. Pilgrim is also tied for the team lead in runs with 35. Sydney Fourman leads the nation with 13 homeruns, while posting a team-high 41 RBIs. In the circle, Lindsey Wilson has posted a 2.22 ERA over 252 and 1/3 innings of work this season. Lyndsey Parden has compiled 150 of the teams 233 strikeouts. Parden ranks seventh in the NAIA with 15 wins on the year. Cumberland is 12-20 on the season and they are 8-8 in MSC play. In the last series for the Phoenix, they won three of the four games against St. Catharine (Ky.) at home. Imani Torregano leads Cumberland with 37 hits, while Kassydi Montgomery leads the team with six homeruns and 29 RBIs. The Phoenix pitching staff has combined for a 4.02 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 212 and 2/3 innings of work.
