Amber Foukes selected as MSC Softball Player of the Week

By Charlie Balcom

Lindsey Wilson freshman Amber Foukes is the Mid-South Conference Softball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. This marks the first Player of the Week honor of Foukes' career.

The Louisville, Kentucky native had at least one hit in all six wins last week, including posting three multi-hit games as the Blue Raiders went 6-0.

She homered in three-straight games -- once against St. Catharine in a mid-week game and in each game on Friday in a sweep of Georgetown.

Foukes completed the week with a .500 (10-for-20) batting average, three home runs and nine RBIs. She also scored six times while amassing a .950 slugging percentage.

No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson improves to 28-10 on the season and 13-3 in the Mid-South Conference.
