An early morning fire on Watson Street in Columbia, KY destroys four townhouses, the homes of four families, contents, and five vehicles parked behind the structures were charred, total loss ruins after the fire and a sixth received damage.

Miraculously, no life was lost and no one was injured, according to neighbors.

Neighbors thought that at least eight adults - heads of households - lived in the townhouses. They thought the number of children and visitors in the homes might have swelled the total number there to over 20.

Firefighters on the scene came from Columbia-Adair County Fire Department, Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department and the Knifley Fire Department. Jason Rector of the Adair County Chapter of the American Red Cross was on the scene quickly to assist families in making temporary living arrangements elsewhere.

Neighbors were on standby to help and assist the families and the first responders.
