Mr. David Thomas Pattersonm 61, of Summersville, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

The funeral services for Mr. David Thomas Patterson will be conducted at 11amCT, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 699 Old Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens in Summersville, KY. Bro. Robert Knight and Bro. Blake Durrett will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY at the funeral home, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the church until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Ethan Patterson, Dylan Patterson, John Henderson, James Patterson, H.L. Shofner, Mark Patterson, Matthew Patterson, and Brent Patterson

Honorary pallbearers: All of David's nieces and nephews.

Mr. David Thomas Patterson, Summersville, KY (1955-2016)

Mr. David Thomas Patterson of Summersville, Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Theodore Patterson and Kathleen Frederick Patterson, was born on February 19, 1955 in Casey County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 61 years, one month, and five days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also a construction worker for Earth & Energy.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Caffee Shofner Patterson of Summersville, having united in marriage on May 11, 1973. Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Jason and Tony Patterson, and Wayne and Kim Patterson all of Greenburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Nicole Patterson and her fiance', John Henderson, Ethan Patterson, and Dylan Patterson all of Greensburg, KY

  • Three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Mark and Ann Patterson of Campbellsville, KY; James and Connie Patterson, and Matthew Patterson all of Greensburg, KY

  • His mother-in-law: Christine Wright of Greensburg, KY

  • His in-laws: H.L. and Linda Shofner, Steve and Tonya Shofner, Sandra and Keith Walker, Gail and Chris Whicker, and John Milton Shofner

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Mr. Patterson was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Becky and Mike Ponder; two brothers: Danny Patterson and Nathan Patterson; a sister-in-law: Colena Patterson.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
