Mrs. Frances Lindsey Sparks, Green Co., KY (1932-2016)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a former foster parent, a homemaker, and a member of the Summersville Homemakers. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Lindsey & Stacie Meador Lindsey and the widow of Frederic C. Sparks, her husband of over 58 years. She leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Frances Lindsey Sparks, 84, of Summersville, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her home in Summersville.

The funeral services for Mrs. Frances Lindsey Sparks will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Summersville Baptist Church, 5199 Hodgenville Road, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens, Summersville, KY. Bro. Chuck Pollard and Bro. Nathan Crawford will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Saturday, March 19, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, and after 7amCT until 12pmNoonCT, Sunday at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Greg Sparks, Brandon Sparks, Jeremy Sparks, David O'Leary, Ricky Grimes, Dave Durrett, and Casey Sparks.

Mrs. Frances Lindsey Sparks, Green Co., KY (1932-2016)

Mrs. Frances Lindsey Sparks of Summersville, Green County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Raymond Lindsey and Stacie Meador Lindsey, was born on January 28, 1932 in Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her home in Summersville. She was 84 years, one month, and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. She was a former foster parent, a homemaker, and a member of the Summersville Homemakers.

She united in marriage to Frederic C. "Fred" Sparks on September 30, 1950 who preceded her in death on May 8, 2009.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: Dennis and Donna Sparks of Versailles, KY; Gary and Markie Sparks of Magnolia, KY; and Tony Sparks of Louisville, KY

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Colleen And Jay Wright of Georgia

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Three great-grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Sparks was also preceded in death by a daughter: Monica Underwood; a granddaughter: Adrienne Dumas; two brothers: Robert Lindsey, and Terrel Lindsey.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.
