James Whitney Cecil, 92, Green County, KY (1923-2016)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the West Liberty First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a Car Dealer and Co-Owner of C.F. Cecil & Sons, and later in life worked as an Insurance Agent for Commonwealth Life Insurance Company. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army, and was also a member of the West Liberty Lions Club.

Mr. James Whitney Cecil, 92, of Greensburg, Kentucky, formerly of West Liberty, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

There will be graveside services for Mr. James Whitney Cecil conducted at 10amCT, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Greensburg Cemetery, N Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with full military rites conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. Bro. Dale Curry will be officiating. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.



James Whitney Cecil, 92, Green County, KY (1923-2016)


Mr. James Whitney Cecil of Greensburg, Kentucky, formerly of West Liberty, Kentucky, was the son of the late Charles Frazier Cecil and Julia Mae Rose Cecil. He was born on July 15, 1923 in Lee City, Wolfe County, KY, and departed this life on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, KY. He was 92 years, 7 months, and 27 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the West Liberty First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a Car Dealer and Co-Owner of C.F. Cecil & Sons, and later in life worked as an Insurance Agent for Commonwealth Life Insurance Company. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army, and was also a member of the West Liberty Lions Club.

Mr. Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Ava Nell Nickell Cecil on August 27, 2013, having united in marriage on January 2, 1949.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Theresa and Dr. Garth Bobrowski of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandsons: Dr. Whitney Bobrowski and his wife, Karly Bobrowski; and Dr. Nicholas Bobrowski and his wife, Dr. Sanatana Bobrowski all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: McCanon James Bobrowski and Avalyn Rose Bobrowski both of Greensburg, KY

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Betty Cecil of Mize, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
