Mary Froedge Tanski, 92, Green Co., KY (1923-2016)

Shewas born in Barren County, KY, was a former resident of Adair County, KY, and was a resident of Green County, KY at the time of her death. She will be laid to rest in Adair County. She was the daughter of the late John Robert and Amanda Stinson Froedge and the widow of Ronald Tanski, her husband 42 years. While living in Columbia, she attended Trinity United Methodist Church and since moving to Greensburg had attended Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired as a computer operator from Goodyear.

Mary Tanski, 92, of Greensburg, KY, formerly of Columbia, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at 3:05amCT, at the Greensburg Family Care Home in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral service for Mary Tanski will be Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 12pmNoonCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Kevin Brantley officiating. Burial will be in Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independent Ridge Road, Breeding, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Terry Lile, Mike Cox, Reece Cox, Briley Cox, Jeff Webber, Steve Webber, Rick Bean, and Ken Childers.

Honorary: Naomi Embry, Barbara Cundiff, Donna Smith, Debbie Bryant, Patsy Moran, and Joyce Burton.

She was born March 30, 1923, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John Robert and Amanda Stinson Froedge. She died Monday, March 7, 2016, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and seven days.

She married Ronald Tanski in June 1958 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2001.

While living in Columbia, she attended Trinity United Methodist Church and since moving to Greensburg had attended Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired as a computer operator from Goodyear.

Survivors include:
  • Four nieces, Barbara Lile of Greensburg, KY; June Webber of LaGrange, KY; Jennie Walls of Johnson City, TN, and Donna Stot of Ohio

  • Several great-nieces and great-nephews

  • And other relatives and friends
