Earl W. Vaught, Casey Co., KY (1917-2016)

He was a farmer, member of West Side Christian Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and will be accorded full military honors at committal rites. He was a native of Casey County and will be laid to rest in the county of his birth. He was the son of the late Dave and Alice Lane Vaught and the widower of Edna Stafford Vaught. He leaves 29 direct living descendants.

Earl W. Vaught, age 99, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Thursday March 3, 2016 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY.

Funeral Services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday March 6th, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY, with Rev. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery in Casey County, KY, with military rites performed by the Casey County Veteran's Honor Guard. Visitation will be held 5pmCT/6pmET, Saturday March 5, 2016 Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.



Earl W. Vaught, Casey Co., KY (1917-2016)

He was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on Tuesday, January 23, 1917. He was the son of the late Dave and Alice Lane Vaught. he died Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Wilmore, Jessamine County, KY, at the age of 99 years, one month, and nine days.

Earl was a farmer, member of West Side Christian Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.

He was the widower of Edna Stafford Vaught.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: James Vaught and Randall and (Rosey) Vaught both of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Anna and (Thomas) Dickerson and Mary Sue and (Rufus) Shoopman both of Liberty, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Matthew Dickerson, Greg and Terry Vaught, Gwen Wesley and Lynn Campbell

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Eight great great grandchildren
Preceding him in death besides his parents and spouse was one grandson: Larry Vaught, five brothers: Sam, Riley, Elex, Elzie and Howard Vaught and six sisters: Alma and Maudie Vaught, Mary Taylor, Myrtle Steinhauer, Maggie Brown and Hazel King.
