Winnie Milby Rayburn, 72, Green County, KY (1943-2016)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a nurse for Dr. Harry Huntsman and the late Dr. George Cheatham. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Leon Hobson Milby and Eula Louisa Jones Milby. She leaves nine direct living descendants, two in Summersville, seven in Columbia, KY.

Winnie Milby Rayburn, 72, of Green County, KY, departed this life on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was 72 years, 9 months, and 15 days of age.

The funeral services for Winnie Milby Rayburn will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Jones Family Cemetery in the Mount Sherman Community of Green County. Bro. Blake Jessie will be officiating. Visitation was requested from 4:30pmCT until 8:30pmCT, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday until time of the funeral service.


Pallbearers: Everett Milby, Paul Cravens, Kirk Spencer, Blake Milby, Jonathon Walker, Kylie Rayburn, Andrew Pruitt, and Kendrick Rayburn.

Honorary pallbearers: Kendra Rayburn, Kaleb Rayburn, Kyle Rayburn, Korbin Rayburn, Linda Akin, and Dr. Harry Huntsman.

Winnie Milby Rayburn of Green County, KY, daughter of the late Leon Hobson Milby and Eula Louisa Jones Milby, was born on April 14, 1943 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was 72 years, 9 months, and 15 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a nurse for Dr. Harry Huntsman and the late Dr. George Cheatham.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Darcy and Kirby Pruitt of Summersville, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law: Darren and Tabitha Rayburn of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Andrew Pruitt of Summersville, KY; Kylie Rayburn, Kendrick Rayburn, Kendra Rayburn, Kaleb Rayburn, Kyle Rayburn, and Korbin Rayburn all of Columbia, KY

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Wade H. and Sue Ann Milby of Green County, KY

  • A brother-in-law: Paul Cravens of Indiana

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Ms. Rayburn was also preceded in death by a sister: Juanita Cravens.

Memorials are suggested to the Jones Family Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
